On the second day, visit Rissani souk and explore the beautiful Draa Valley. Visit Ouarzazate, the film capital of Morocco, and take a tour of the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich history. Finally, you’ll arrive in Marrakech, the vibrant “Red City”, where you can explore its beautiful palaces, gardens, and lively souks, making this trip the perfect mix of nature, culture, and history.
Your 5-day desert tour begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. From there, we will travel toward Boulaajoul Village. Our first stop will be the city of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its cooler climate and alpine-style architecture. Next, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant along the route. Afterward, we will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make a stop in a cedar forest to observe the Barbary monkeys, which are native to the region. We will then arrive in Boulaajoul Village for dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.
After breakfast, we begin our journey, driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Then, we head toward the Sahara Desert, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass. We’ll continue our trip through the Ziz Valley, a lush oasis filled with palm trees. We’ll take a break at a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley. We stop for lunch at a restaurant along the way. In the afternoon, we will reach the desert, where your camels will be waiting to take you across the golden dunes to your luxury or traditional Desert Camp. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to watch the sunset from a high dune.
Once we arrive at the campsite, the staff will escort you to your private tent, where you can relax and freshen up with a shower. After a delicious dinner, the team will light a bonfire, and you can enjoy the warm atmosphere while the Berbers drum and sing, creating a magical desert evening.
Wake up early for an unforgettable experience as you climb the Erg Chebbi sand dunes to watch the sunrise. As the first light touches the golden sands, you’ll experience a moment of complete tranquility, with the vast desert stretching out before you. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and shower at the camp.
Our Desert Excursion begins with a visit to local nomadic families living in traditional tents. We will drink tea with them and learn about their way of life in the Sahara desert. Next, we head to Khamlia Village to experience the unique sounds of Gnawa music, explore the local museum, enjoy traditional tea, and try Berber pizza for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Lake Dayet Srji, a popular spot for birdwatching, and then explore a small Oasis near the dunes. Finally, we make our way to a hotel or riad, where we will spend the night.
After Breakfast, We then leave the desert for Ouarzazate, passing through Rissani to explore its historic market. Rissani is a historic town and a gateway to the Sahara, famous for its traditional souks and one of the oldest markets in Morocco. We continue the journey to Alnif and Nkob, making stops for lunch and taking photos of the kasbahs and mountain views. Drive through the scenic Draa Valley, with its palm groves and villages, before visiting Kasbah Tamnougalt in Agdez. Finally, we arrive in Ouarzazate. Accomodation at hotel or riad.
After breakfast, we continue our trip back to Marrakech via Kasbah Telouat offers stunning landscapes and historic sites. We start by passing through Tazakhte, known for its Berber carpets, then head to Kasbah Telouat in the Atlas Mountains to explore the ancient fortress. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Ounila Valley with its red cliffs and traditional villages. As we continue, we’ll pass through the High Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views, Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. The distance from Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga (Sahara Desert) is approximately 550 to 600 kilometers (around 340 to 375 miles) depending on the specific route taken.
The 5-day tour is a private experience, limited to the travelers who book it. No additional participants will join. We focus on providing personalized, high-quality tours, which is why we primarily offer private options.
The vehicle will either be an SUV (4×4) or a minivan, both equipped with A/C.
Vehicle Details:
Car 4×4: Land Cruiser Prado (up to 4 passengers)
Minivans: Mercedes Vito Tourer or Ford Custom Van (up to 8 passengers)
For groups larger than 8, a Minibus with a capacity of up to 18 passengers can be provided.
The camel ride lasts between 50 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on which camp you are staying at.
Yes, you can go sandboarding in the sand dunes near our camp in the Merzouga Desert.
During the camel ride, you will only take what’s necessary. The rest of your luggage will be transported by the camp’s car 4×4 and will be waiting for you at the camp.
* If you do not wish to take the camel ride, the camp offers a 4×4 vehicle that can transport people and luggage to and from the camp.
*Alternatively, ATVs can be arranged for an additional cost.
The tents are always private, but the difference is that at the standard camp, the bathroom is shared, while at the luxury camp, the tents are private and have ensuite bathrooms.
Yes, the camp is equipped with electricity generated from solar panels.

This tour is suitable for individuals of all ages. However, please note that the tour involves approximately 6 to 7 hours of driving each day. While our vehicles are new and comfortable, and we make regular stops along the way, if you are not accustomed to this level of travel, you may wish to consider a longer tour, such as our other itinerary from Fes, to reduce the daily driving time.
The meeting point for the tour is at 8:30 a.m. at any location within Fes. If your riad is accessible by car, we will pick you up directly from there. If not, we will arrange to pick you up from the nearest accessible road. This can be confirmed upon booking.
At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at the airport in Marrakech, or any location in the city.
