This 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech offers an unforgettable experience to immerse yourself in the spirit of the Sahara Desert. Enjoy a magical night under the stars in the heart of the desert dunes, where the clear sky is filled with countless stars. You’ll take a thrilling camel trek through the vast dunes, watch the stunning desert sunset, and spend the night in a traditional Berber camp.
This experience will give you a true taste of Berber life and culture. This desert tour is perfect for those flying into Fes and departing from Marrakech (or the other way around). We highly recommend taking at least 4 days and 3 nights to fully appreciate the beauty and adventure of the desert.
The 4-day desert tour begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Fes. From there, we travel toward the Sahara Desert. Our first stop will be the city of Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its cooler climate and alpine-style architecture. Next, we will cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make a stop in a cedar forest to observe the Barbary monkeys, which are native to the region. Next, we will stop for meal lunch at a restaurant along the route.
Afterward, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz Valley, a lush oasis filled with palm trees. We’ll take a break at a panoramic viewpoint to enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley. We will reach the desert in the afternoon, where your camels will be waiting to take you across the golden dunes to your luxury or traditional desert camp. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to watch the sunset from a high dune.
Once you arrive at the campsite, the staff will show you to your private tent, where you can relax and freshen up with a shower. After a delicious dinner, the team will light a bonfire, and you can enjoy the warm atmosphere while the Berbers drum and sing, creating a magical desert evening.
Start your day with an unforgettable experience by climbing the Erg Chebbi sand dunes to watch the sunrise. As the first light touches the golden sands, you’ll experience a moment of complete calm, with the vast desert stretching out before you.
Afterward, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a shower at the camp. You can either ride the camels again or transfer by 4×4 back to the starting point, where you’ll meet your driver. Continue your 4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech. We will visit the weekly market of Rissani if it’s one of the market days (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday). We’ll pass through small Berber villages such as Touroug, Tinjdad, and Tinghir, where we’ll stop to admire its beautiful Todra Valley, full of palm trees and vegetation.
We continue to the Todra Gorge, located at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, a famous place for rock climbers. We’ll have free time to walk through its towering canyons. Afterward, we’ll have a break for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to Boumalne Dades, and by evening, we’ll arrive in the Dades Valley. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at a hotel or riad.
After breakfast in Boumalne Dades, we begin our scenic drive through the Dades Valley, known for its impressive kasbahs and lush palm groves. We make a brief stop at Dades Gorge, where you can enjoy incredible views of the winding cliffs and deep ravines. We then continue through Kalaat M’Gouna and the Rose Valley, taking in the breathtaking landscapes and passing remote Berber villages. Afterward, we stop for a delicious lunch in a traditional village.
In the afternoon, we head to Skoura to visit the famous Kasbah Amridil, a well-preserved mud-brick fortress that offers a glimpse into Morocco’s history. By evening, we arrive in Ouarzazate, where we check into a hotel or riad for an overnight stay, concluding a memorable day of exploration.
After breakfast, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah, then head to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. We’ll stop to visit and take pictures before continuing our trip to Marrakech via Kasbah Telouat, which offers stunning landscapes and historic sites. We begin by passing through Tazakhte, known for its Berber carpets, then head to Kasbah Telouat in the Atlas Mountains to explore the ancient fortress.
Enjoy the scenic drive through the Ounila Valley, with its red cliffs and traditional villages. As we continue, we’ll pass through the High Atlas Mountains, offering breathtaking views. There will be stops for lunch and to take pictures at interesting spots along the way. Finally, we reach Marrakech, where we will drop you off at your hotel or any location within the city. This marks the end of the 4-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech.
