Our 2 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert will begin in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or riad. The journey starts as we head towards the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N’Tichka. Along the way, we’ll make several stops to enjoy panoramic views and capture the landscapes of the Berber villages.
We will then continue the drive to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986. This fortified village has been featured in several famous films, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, and The Mummy.
We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Afterward, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate and make a brief stop near the Atlas Film Studios for photos. We will then continue to the Kasbah of Taourirt for a panoramic view, followed by a drive through Kalaa M’gouna and Boumalne Dades. Later, we’ll continue on to Todra Gorges via Imider and Tinghir, stopping along the way to take in the views and capture the moments.
We will arrive at Todra Gorges to enjoy the marvelous canyon views before continuing to Tinjdad and then Erfoud. From there, we will head to the captivating dunes of the Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert, arriving in Merzouga Village.
Upon arrival at the camel area, you will prepare for a camel trek to enjoy the stunning sunset over the dunes. Afterward, you’ll continue to the camp for an overnight stay in a luxury/traditional nomad tent. Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner and Berber music under the stars in the Sahara Desert.
Wake up early in the morning if you want to enjoy the amazing sunrise among the dunes (this is highly recommended). After having breakfast and shower, you choose a camel ride or car 4×4 to go back to the meeting point where you will find your driver waiting for you then travel back directly to Marrakech, making a few stops along the way. We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our journey back to the red city of Marrakech, passing through the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka pass.
We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening and drop you off at your hotel/riad or any location in the city. your 2 days tour from Marrakech will come to an end.

The distance from Marrakech to Merzouga is approximately 560 to 600 kilometers (about 350 to 375 miles), depending on the specific route you take.
The drive typically takes around 6 to 7 hours by car, though the journey time can vary depending on road conditions and stops along the way. we make this trip as part of a desert tour, passing through Tizi N’Tichka, Ouarzazate, Boumalne, Tinghir, and Merzouga desert.
The 2 days tour is a private experience, limited to the travelers who book it. No additional participants will join. We focus on providing personalized, high-quality tours, which is why we primarily offer private options.
The vehicle will either be an SUV (4×4) or a minivan, both equipped with A/C.
Vehicle Details:
Car 4×4: Land Cruiser Prado (up to 4 passengers)
Minivans: Mercedes Vito Tourer or Ford Custom Van (up to 8 passengers)
For groups larger than 8, a Minibus with a capacity of up to 18 passengers can be provided.
The camel ride lasts between 50 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on which camp you are staying at.
Yes, you can go sandboarding in the sand dunes near our camp in the Merzouga Desert.
* If you do not wish to take the camel ride, the camp offers a 4×4 vehicle that can transport people and luggage to and from the camp.
*Alternatively, ATVs can be arranged for an additional cost.
During the camel ride, you will only take what’s necessary. The rest of your luggage will be transported by the camp’s car 4×4 and will be waiting for you at the camp.
The tents are always private, but the difference is that at the standard camp, the bathroom is shared, while at the luxury camp, the tents are private and have ensuite bathrooms.
Yes, the camp is equipped with electricity generated from solar panels.
Please provide us with any dietary preferences you may have, and we will ensure that your needs are met. Kindly inform us of your preferences in advance so that we can make the necessary arrangements for lunch stops and notify the hotel, riad, or camp accordingly, as dinners are included in the package.
This tour is suitable for individuals of all ages. However, please note that the tour involves approximately 5 to 7 hours of driving each day. While our vehicles are new and comfortable, and we make regular stops along the way, if you are not accustomed to this level of travel, you may wish to consider a longer tour, such as our other itinerary from Marrakech to Merzouga, to reduce the daily driving time.
The meeting point for the tour is at 8:30 a.m. at any location within Marrakech. If your riad is accessible by car, we will pick you up directly from there. If not, we will arrange to pick you up from the nearest accessible road. This can be confirmed upon booking.
At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech, or at the nearest available parking area. The tour typically concludes between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. in Marrakech, though the exact duration may vary depending on the time spent at each location.
